Only a choose few were lucky sufficient to have seen this film, but for those who did, most consider it probably the most memorable film they’ve ever seen. I was one of many lucky ones. The movie was a romantic coming of age story about two troubled younger teens (14 and 15 years of age). I was 14 on the time, and due to the controversy surrounding the nudity and sexuality, I wasn’t allowed to see the movie except accompanied by an adult. Several of my mates worked at our native movie show, thus they were exempt from the rule. Perhaps due to the controversy, I was desperate to see the film.
I love every part that has to do with Greek Mythology so naturally I was going to like Hercules. I loved its take on the parable of how Hercules became a demigod and I loved the portrayal of the different gods, like Zeus and Hera, Hades and the three-headed canine Cerberus, and even Phil the satyr, Pegasus, the Fates and the Muses. The story was candy and though Meg isn’t my favorite (along with her being in cahoots with Hades), she did changed on the finish. This film is sensible, adventurous and funny. As for the songs, I think this movie has a few of my favorites. I love I Won’t Say I’m In Love and anything the Muses sing (they are amazing!!).
