Based on a brief story written by Rabindranath Tagore. It’s an emotional drama. Depicts the life of a migrated roadside chickpea vendor. The vendor gets hooked up to just a little lady and enjoys her company. How he lands himself in jail and the climax exhibits the lady getting married which reminds him of his daughter who also may need grown-up or even married.
After the film Subramaniyapuram, it is another sensible effort by Director Sasikumar. Now the story totally shifted to urban side and explains the truth of youth in cities. Camera, path and screenplay are three major strengths of EESAN. But director could have focused on music and songs which is a giant detrimental point on this film. Probably director could have avoided few songs.
That’s the place I got an issue with the title ‘Nollywood’. It isn’t like Hollywood where there’s really a spot with studios in it and all. There’s really no place referred to as Nollywood. It’s nowhere! And the flicks are shot in real places – houses, offices, motels, and so on primarily within the top three movie cities of Abuja, Lagos and Enugu. In the tip of every Nigeria movie you will see within the credit the place names of people that probably personal houses, resorts, hospitals, and so forth used within the movies space appreciated.
The Nigerian film trade remains to be thought of a nascent trade, though; with a life span of only about 20 years. Of course, motion pictures have been made in Nigeria as far back as in the Sixties, but these were without digital filming. Now the case is completely different. Over 200 house movies are produced each month! CNN as soon as did a report that estimated the price of Nollywood to be within the neighbourhood of $250 Million dollars.
